Mike re designed the old system of used plastic bottles to this new PVC ""water slide" the water is on full circulation and slides down the PVC like a water slide touching the mature baby plants roots that have already established in our "nursery".

He also went and cut back the over growth as it was a jungle literally to walk thru and now that we know we have snakes, lizards, wasps, bees, lady bugs, moths, and who knows what else in there, we wanted the path way to be clear. But now you can see all the flowering plants and all the wonderful squash, snap beans, beans, corn, carrots, beets and even the new addition of the flower bed just outside of the food garden, our neighbor added poppies and a variety of other flowers.

It is amazing to see life alive back in our little apartment free space. Was once just weeds and rocks and an old tree stump, is now a garden of eden.

We have a lot in common- we ought to trade tips and experiences. You can see most of my gardening adventures at http://myfolia.com/gardeners/halhurst/journal
My present directions are based on my tilapia culture- about 35 various sized tilapia growing in a 300 gallon tank in a system of about 400 gallons when considering biofilters and external beds. Projects I am working on: vertical lettuce tubes, subirrigated planters, ebb and flow beds, raft culture.

See you around the HB community garden!
